Comic books tell the story of heroes trying to understand their place in the world, what makes them special, and how they should apply those talents (for good or for evil!). These stories appeal to us because we, too, are looking to find our place and to discover and engage our talents. We identify and sympathize with the struggles of our heroes, and this helps to reduce our anxiety and discomfort with our own vulnerabilities.
